INTRODUCTION

This bike looks like a car. It’s termed as PodRide. The PodRide is a four-wheeled, electric-assist bike. It is covered by a fabric shell which protects the cyclist from various weather conditions including snow.

It consists of an electric motor that can make it reach speeds of up to 15 mph, so you will have to use your legs and rotate the pedals if you wish to go faster.
WHO MADE IT AND WHY?
Mikael Kjellman is credited to have made the PodRide. He created the PodRide so he could cycle in the winters without any problem. But the PodRide works on more than just snow. It can handle dirt trails as well as ice.

HOW WAS PODRIDE MADE?
Kjellman spent years piecing different cycle parts together and tested different prototypes. Finally, the PodRide came complete with headlights, storage, a small heater, air suspension and a windshield wiper.
WILL PODRIDE COME TO YOU?
After the PodRide became viral in 2016, Kjellman received a lot of interest in the new vehicle and got a few contracts. But the problem was that PodRide was never designed with any thought of mass production. So, Mikael went back to the drawing board and set about redesigning PodRide from the ground up to being better suited for mass production. He even added a few requested features such as a rear child seat. Mikael Kjellman plans on bringing the first PodRide in Europe.
